Anthony J. DeChellis, CPA, CFP

  • 2004-present - Member of the Quickfinder editorial team, serving in the role of Senior Manager, Product Development. Has led the development of several new Quickfinder Handbooks as well as managing and contributing to the technical update of the traditional handbooks.
  • 1993-2004 - Contributed to the PPC line of tax and financial planning publications, especially in the area of individual taxation. Formerly the executive editor on PPC's 1040 Deskbook and PPC's Guide to Tax Planning for High Income Individuals as well as a contributing editor to various new tax act publications.
  • 1981-1993 - Worked in the tax department of a national CPA firm with a heavy emphasis in tax return preparation and tax planning. Extensive tax practice experience serving a broad range of clients, especially individuals and businesses.

Tony has more than 24 years of tax experience including extensive client service work preparing tax returns and tax planning. He is a graduate of Texas Christian University. Married with three children, including a college-bound daughter, he enjoys traveling, sports, yard work, and keeping up with the family's border collie, Briar. A former college soccer player, he now limits his playing to backyard games with his 10-year-old son. Tony is a member of various professional organizations and associations.

   

Greg Espinoza

  • 2007 - Appointed Quickfinder Insides Sales Manager.
  • 2005 - Appointed Quickfinder Association Program Coordinator.
  • 2004 - Joined the Quickfinder team as an inbound sales representative.
  • 2003 - Worked in various sales roles for Thomson-PPC.

Greg has over 10 years of sales experience in various industries. He is a graduate of Southwest Texas State University. In his spare time he enjoys snow skiing, playing hockey, running, and spending time with his wife and two boys.

   

Shari Lawson Phelps

  • 2003 - Joined the Quickfinder team.
  • 1989-Current - Served in a variety of roles within Thomson including Director of Sales, Renewals and Retention and Customer Service. Most currently Senior Director of Quickfinder Sales and CPE Sales.

Shari is one of three founding members of our sales group and has a passion for serving our customers. She is responsible for all Quickfinder and CPE sales reps. Shari serves on the PPC Charitable Contributions Committee, and she has two daughters, ages 9 and 5. In her spare time she can be sighted at Six Flags Over Texas with her daughters.

   

Blake Smith, CPA

  • 2003 - Joined the Quickfinder team.
  • 1991-Present - Served in a variety of tax editorial roles including author/co-author of a number of PPC's Tax Deskbooks and Planning Guides, Director of New Product Development and Senior Director of PPC's editorial operations. Currently serves as Senior Director of Quickfinder editorial operations.
  • 1983-1991 - Practicing CPA providing tax and consulting services to individual and business clients. Client base comprised of business executives and professional service providers as well as retail, manufacturing, banking and oil and gas businesses.

Blake has more than 15 years of tax publishing experience. In addition to his work at Thomson, Blake was a senior manager with a public accounting firm serving a variety of individual, small business and estate and trust clients. He is active with the AICPA where he has been a frequent speaker at conferences and is a past chair of its Form 709 Task Force. He is also immediate past chair of the TSCPA's Advanced Estate Planning Conference Committee. In addition to his professional activities, he enjoys outdoor activities with his family and coaching youth football.

   

Michael C. Swenson, MPA, CPA

  • 1997-Current - Mike has served as a coauthor or reviewing editor of Thomson's PPC line of tax and business planning publications, and of Quickfinder Handbooks. The products Mike has contributed to during the past year include the 1040, Small Business, Tax Planning for Businesses, and Tax Planning for Individuals Quickfinder Handbooks, plus the Quickfinder Tax Tips Newsletter. The many PPC products Mike had a hand in focused primarily on business tax, and include the Guides to Buying or Selling a Business, Tax Planning Strategies, and Specialized Industry Tax.

    Mike is now Executive Editor - Quickfinder Handbooks, developing new products that will help you to practice more effectively and efficiently, writing Tax Tips newsletter articles, and updating your favorite Handbooks - Quickfinder!

  • 1977-1997 - Mike's tax practice career started as a CPA with a Big 8 firm after he earned a Masters in Professional Accounting degree, with a tax concentration, from the University of Texas at Austin. In public tax practice he serviced a variety of individual, partnership, corporate, and estate and trust clients, many of whom were in the oil and gas industry. Following public practice, Mike first gained technical and marketing experience with a major computerized return processing company that's now part of Thomson, then for many years managed the in-house tax function of an international corporation. During his corporate years, Mike kept his individual tax skills sharp by serving a few 1040 clients.

Mike has over 9 years of publishing experience included in his tax practice career that will reach its 30th anniversary this December. He is a member of the AICPA, the Texas Society of CPAs, and the Fort Worth Chapter of the TSCPA. When not producing Quickfinder resources to help with your practice, Mike enjoys spending time with his family - which includes his devoted wife of nearly 25 years, two wonderful college-student kids, and a great yellow Labrador Retriever, Missy. He also enjoys distance running, watching sports on TV, and attending high school and college sports competitions. And once upon a time he knew something about golf and tennis.

   

Carrolyn Teichman

  • 2003 - Joined the Quickfinder team.
  • 1977-Current - Served in a variety of roles within Thomson including development of tax software products, product management for accounting, practice management and auditing software, and tradeshow and sales support for PPC. Currently serves as Director of Circulation Management and Retention for Research and Guidance.

Carrolyn has more than 28 years of experience in meeting the publishing and software needs of accountants. Carrolyn is married, has two grown children, and will soon have two new daughters-in-law. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, playing golf, and traveling with her family.
