Form 706 w/ a form 712 - 10/22/09 at 9:47 AM

I am filing an estate tax return 706 for an estate that is approx $1.7m, for 2007 (exemption $2m) even thought it is not required, so as to start the statut of limitations. However, I am wondering if the accompanying form 712 is required for each insurance policy. Every policy was a lump sum payment with no installments or other benefits.

Do I have to file the form 712 in this instance?

Thanks!

Frank

Yes. Fill in schedule D with each contract number & amount. Attach the 712 as documentation. The 712 has all the info you need to complete schedule d.
