Taxpayer and wife have come into the tax office, filed their 2009 return and now have learned that the IRS is withholding their entire refund due to a past due student loan that the taxpayer has.
Can I just complete an Injured Spouse Allocation Form 8379 and mail it to the IRS or should I prepare an amended return?
