I still have all my clients Form 8879 and copies of w-2 and 1099 since 2002. My office is getting smaller and smaller. How many years do you really need to keep all these info? Is it safe to keep only open years?

At least 3 years. I put the older returns in storage. I keep things for 7 years.

Per Form 8879 instruction-keep the form for 3 years.
